Health Insurance

Meeting with a RDN (Registered Dietitian Nutritionist) for nutrition counseling is often covered by health insurance.

It typically requires some initial information gathering before the first appointment. The following health insurances are currently accepted:

• Blue Cross & Blue Shield

• United Health Care

• Aetna

• Cigna

• Tufts

• Neighborhood

• Medicare*

*(typically only covered for individuals with diabetes and/or chronic kidney disease)

Make sure to verify your benefits with your insurance provider. Consider asking the following questions:

• My diagnosis is _________. Is this covered under my plan?

• Is a referral required?

• How many visits are covered each year?

• Is there a co-pay or deductible due at the time of service?

Private Pay

If your current insurance plan does not cover nutrition counseling, or you prefer to pay out of pocket, contact Amber for her current rates. (Please note, it's often more cost affordable to use health insurance)

Cancellation Fee

Amber Yui reserves the right to charge a cancellation fee to individuals who fail to cancel their appointment with less than 48-hour notice. This policy applies to all initial and follow up appointments, for all new and returning clients.
